Cinematographic Paintings
My artworks are inspired by the medium of film, in the aesthetic and staging of the pictures and in their allusion to the imagery of mainly American movies.
agléonema
I have recently launched my screenprint series Agléonema with an edition of 15. Inspired by the movie Léon – The Professional, the serigraph centers Léon’s caring relationship to his plant which marks a contrast to his occupation as a professional killer.
SNATCH
Snatch is a special edition of three handprinted serigraphs in colours. I have chosen a film reel inspired format of four lined up film stills based on the title sequence of the movie, during which the main characters are introduced.
About Me
My passion for art began early during childhood, when
the pencil was a constant companion to express my blooming imagination. Since I have been drawn to cinema and its production process ever since, it quite naturally found its way into my artworks when I became a professional painter.
Born in Munich I lived a couple of years in Sicily where I studied the traditional painting techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania. Following stays in Paris, Montreal and Heidelberg, I moved back to Munich to start a career in the auction market while pursuing my artistic path.
Exhibitions
Here are some of the projects that I have participated at in the last years. My works have been exhibited internationally in Italy, France, England and Switzerland. I remain open for collaborations with galleries and artists that share my passion for art and the movies.
